DTC’s SUMMERSTAGE is the heart of our young actor-training program, and the highlight of our year! Offering the very best in theater daycamps for ages 4–18, students rotate through a series of classes daily, designed to be age-appropriately challenging. With the guidance of professional artists and educators, students develop and cultivate theater skills that will serve them well in life. Courses include voice, movement, storydrama, visual arts, acting and musical theater. One and two-week sessions are available with half-day and full-day options throughout June and July. All sessions are Monday through Friday, each culminating with a final performance. Since 1960, the nationally recognized education programs at DTC have helped students build self-confidence, cultivate creativity and develop an appreciation for theater. Join Dallas Theater Center for a summer of discovery, growth and fun. Fire up the summer and ignite your child’s imagination!
Imagine Tomorrow Camps (ages 3 - 7) Dates: June 4 - 14, July 16 - 26, July 30 - August 9 (Monday - Thursday)
Times: 10 am - 12 noon or 1 pm - 3 pm
Children get to become computer detectives and go on a learning adventure each day to solve a unique computer mission. They build teamwork, thinking and problem solving skills, and confidence as they work cooperatively as a team to solve their computer mission.
TechnoKids (ages 7 - 12) Dates: June 18 - 22
Times: 9 am - 12 noon or 1 pm - 4 pm
Children will be working on projects using Word, PowerPoint, Paint, and Internet Explorer as they solve mysteries, build websites, become graphic artist, pirates and much more.
Clay Animation (ages 7 - 12) Dates: August 13 - 17
Times: 9 am - 12 noon or 1 pm - 4 pm
Children explore animation, sculpting, visual literacy and multimedia concepts while working in small, collaborative teams. Each team will brainstorm an idea, create a storyboard and script, sculpt clay puppets, build scenery, and design special effects while shooting and editing a stop-motion animation movie.
